AN EVENING WITH FAITH WILLINGER
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 29TH AT 7:00 PM
Join us at Palace Kitchen for a dinner with cookbook author and travel writer, Faith Willinger. A 20-year resident of Florence, Faith has spent abundant time in Italy's cities and countryside, discovering the exquisite cuisine her books so beautifully describe.
Faith visited Seattle last year to promote her then new cookbook, Red, White and Greens, a simple and delightful book describing the Italian way with vegetables. We welcome Faith back to Seattle this year as she revisits us with her revised, Eating in Italy; A Traveler's Guide to the Gastronomic Pleasures of Northern Italy , which Gourmet magazine describes as a "gastro-maniacal Baedeker".
Our menu for this special dinner at the Palace reflects the spirit of the regional cuisine of Faith's adopted country.
Farinata with rosemary and orange 50-year old balsamic sprinkled on prosciutto de parma with a chard bruschetta (Emilia Romagna)
Blanched asparagus with butter and parmesan topped with a fried quail's egg (Lombardia)
The Palace Plin, a little ravioli with chard and roasted pork (Piedmont)
Bacon-wrapped pigeon, spit-roasted with rosemary, bay and juniper on polenta (Venetto)
A selection of regional cheeses and cookies for dessert
The dinner begins at 7:00 PM. The price is $75 plus gratuity and tax, and includes a selection of wines. Copies of Faith's books will be available for purchase. Reservations are still available but we suggest you call us as soon as possible as we have limited seating. Please call Maureen at 448-2001.
