BBQ'N THE WHOLE HOG
Do the charcoal stroll! On Sunday, May 27th, the Pacific Northwest
Barbecue Association will be holding their annual Northwest Regional BBQ
contest at Redhook's Woodinville Brewery. Over thirty contestants will
compete to prove they have the best techniques and recipes, using
everything from Weber kettles to stainless steel custom designed grills.
The winner from the Northwest contest proceeds to the American Royal
contest in Kansas City, and may also qualify for the Jack Daniel's finals
in Lynnchburg, Tenneseee. Enjoy a pork sandwich (they will pit roast a
whole hog) washed down with a nice cold Redhook. Only PNBA members may
sample or judge the contestant's BBQ, but it's a good chance to see what
serious BBQ folks do with their weekends.
COOKBOOK SIGNINGS AND EVENTS
We'll be taking the rubs, our new BBQ sauce and the cookbook to the Fancy
Food Show in Chicago from March 25th-27th .... watch for Tom on the TV
Food Network "Emeril Live" where Tom will be cooking from his
book on March 28th .... he is also in Philadelphia March 30 - April 2 at
the Book and the Cook Festival. While there, he'll be cooking a dinner at
Jake's on Sunday April 1st (215-483-0444) ... join Tom at Powell's Books
in Portland at 1:00 PM on Saturday April 14th for a book signing and tasty
appetizers cooking demo....and if you live in Austin, Tom will be teaching
a cooking class on May 3rd, at the Central Market (call 512-206-1067 to
register)
SEATTLE'S 14TH ANNUAL TASTE OF THE NATION

BOOK YOUR LARGE PARTY WITH US!
We recently made some changes to the dining room at Etta's Seafood which
allows us to take bookings for large parties of up to 45 people. Please
call the restaurant at (206) 443-6000 if you would like to make a large
party reservation for either lunch or dinner. And don't forget that Palace
has a private dining room that seats up to 16, and the new Dahlia can take
