Hello, Dolly! At the Harvard Exit

Bet you didn’t know that Tom is a huge movie buff?! Tom was asked by the Seattle International Film Festival to screen his favorite film and host a question and answer session afterwards. It’s called the Talking Picture Series, and it’s new to the festival this year.

Tom’s favorite flick is HELLO, DOLLY! with ‘Babs’ in the lead role – cause she’s like butta’. To really celebrate the occasion, we’ll be treating all ticket holders to a pre-screening soiree with the cast of the Village Theatre’s production of Hello, Dolly! performing, and a round of bubbly & canapés. Join us in the Harmonious Gardens of the D.A.R. across the street from The Harvard Exit 5-6pm. (All party goers MUST hold tickets to the film.)

We have TASTE OF THE NATION on July 20th at the Fischer Pavilion. TASTE is something we’ve long been involved in and are proud to be a part of! It’s a tasting event featuring over 75 local (!) restaurants, wineries and breweries– a collaborative effort of hundreds of cooks and even more volunteers to raise money and awareness for national hunger. 100% of the ticket price (100 percent!) go directly to local beneficiaries to aid in their fight for hunger. Ticket information can be found here.

Bite of Seattle, July 21-23
Oh Yes, it’s that time of year again where we set up the tent and give you a BITE of something tasty from our kitchens. We’ll be across from the fountain!

Crab-a-licious
All summer long at Lola, Etta’s, Palace Kitchen and Dahlia Lounge, we’ll be serving some of our favorite recipes from Tom’s new book, I Love Crab Cakes: 50 Recipes for an American Classic. Each kitchen chef picks their fav’ and highlights it on the menu. Recipes will change monthly, giving us all an opportunity to eat our way through the book!
The first completed card was turned in after the first THREE days! That means that someone out there was eating a whole lotta’ crab cakes!
When you’re in the restaurants and order a crab cake special, be sure to pick up your ‘Crab Cake Punch Card’. Each time you dine, get a ‘punch’ to fill up the card. (don’t forget your punches!) When your card (and your stomach!) is full, turn it in for a complimentary signed copy of Tom’s new book AND your chance to win the grand prize for a Crab Cake & Chardonnay Dinner for Ten at Dahlia Lounge.
