Seattle Metropolitan Magazine
June 2005
Apparently, if the folks over at Seattle Metropolitan were to host a party, Tom would be attending along with Melissa Etheridge and Bill Clinton! Not a bad line up, we’d say. Be sure to check out this months mag to see who else they’d invite, and to check their restaurant directory for some culinary inspiration next time you’re mulling over “What should we eat for dinner?”
Missed Iron Chef?
Did you miss the Iron Chef party we hosted at the Palace Ballroom? Now’s your chance to get a little taste of one of the winning dishes Tom and team served during the competition. Chef Mark Fuller of the Dahlia Lounge competed in NY along with Tom and now he’s serving up one of the dishes on his menu. With fava beans in season, it’s the perfect dish for this time of year. Next time you’re in, be sure to order the ‘Steibers Farm poached-egg, fava beans, shitake vinaigrette, & parmesan’ you wont’ be sorry!
On the Sunny Side of the Bar
Palace Kitchen
The sun is shining nearly all day now (knock on wood) and just beggin’ us to leave work early and saddle up to a bar for a refreshing cocktail Swing by the Palace Kitchen to taste the new Lavender Martini, have an early evening snack and a laugh with some friends.
Lola Loves Rosé
Our good friends Kay and Clay Simon at Chinook Winery over in Prosser do us the grand pleasure of making our very own ‘Lola Wines’. We sell them by the glass or carafe at Lola and they are quite a treat! Not only are they delicious wines made with love, but they’re an exclusive wine made especially for us and we’re honored to have them! This month be sure to order up a small (ok, who are we kidding? Get the large!) carafe of Lola’s rosé and sink back into a cozy booth and enjoy. It’s pure, crisp summer goodness!
Etta’s Weekend Brunch
There’s nothing better than walking in the market when the days grow long and everyone takes to the streets. Where better to people watch then from a table at our little market gem, Etta’s. For the busy brunch weekend, call ahead for reservations 206.443.6000. Otherwise, you’ll likely have to take a stroll through the market to wait for your table……not such a bad way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon! Whilst there be sure to pick up dinner, too, from the butchers of Don & Joes, swing by the Souk for some smoky spices and grab a bottle of wine from Pike & Western Wine Shop. For dessert? A torte from Le Panier or maybe some little Italian cookies from DeLaurentis!!
