Chefs Without Borders, Tasting Isfahan
Seattle Isfahan Sister City Association and Chef Tom Douglas present Chefs Without Borders, Tasting Isfahan
Take a trip down the Silk Road and experience the exotic flavors of Persian Cuisine. Tom Douglas is hosting the first ever Chefs Without Borders, Tasting Isfahan, a unique cross cultural exchange of recipes and cultures, being produced by Seattle Isfahan Sister City Association (SISCA). On Oct 12, Tom will prepare a traditional four-course meal, featuring the heavenly fragrance of saffron and Persian rice; delicious flat breads; colorful vegetables; fresh herbs and aromatic lamb preparations. The evening will start with a short video on Isfahan and this foray into food diplomacy and dessert will be preceded by the live premiere of a classical guitar collaboration between Isfahan and Seattle! As part of this cross-cultural exchange, Tom has created a special Pacific Northwest menu that will be executed by chefs in Isfahan at a sister event there. Join us for an unforgettable evening of delights for the senses!
The menu and recipes for the Persian dinner in Seattle were developed by noted Iranian-American Persian cookbook author Najmieh Batmanglij who also translated Tom's Pacific Northwest menu and recipes for chefs in Isfahan.
