Grilling for Good ~ 100% for Food Lifeline

Grilling for Good returns! 

Join Tom on the dock at our Serious TakeOut in Ballard.

We have so much going on this summer but nothing more important than the return of our “Grilling For Good” event on Saturday, August 7th. We are joined by the William E. Wockner Foundation in an effort to turn the 25k they donated to Food Lifeline into at least 100k. So, how do we do that? We will create a charcoal grilled meal of Bristol Bay Sockeye Salmon or a beautiful double cut pork chop, Prosser Farm goodies such as Hannah’s choice musk melon, gorgeous ripe tomatoes, and basil, freshly dug Yukon gold potatoes and of course from our own orchard, a luscious chocolate budino made by pastry chef Stacy Fortner. Yum yum and yum! 100%, yes, 100% of money raised will go to Food Lifeline to help supply the over 300 food banks and pantries around western Washington feeding our neighbors.

We are proud to offer a delicious pick up on Saturday, August 7th from 12pm-3pm. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Food Lifeline. Serious TakeOut is located at 5118 14th Ave NW, Seattle, WA 98107. 

 About Food Lifeline: Every year, nearly 40% of the food produced in our country ends up in landfills while millions of people go hungry. Food Lifeline has a solution. We source millions of pounds of nutritious food from farmers, manufacturers, grocery stores, restaurants, and retailers that would otherwise go to waste. 17,916 volunteers visit our Hunger Solution Center annually to help sort and repack this nourishing food. Food Lifeline then distributes it to more than 300 food banks, shelters, nd meal programs throughout Western Washington, providing the equivalent of 134,000 meals every day for hungry children, adults, and seniors.        

About the William E. Wockner Foundation:  Founded in 2018 under the estate of William E. Wockner, the Foundation’s mission is to serve the needs of our community ranging from food and shelter, physical and mental health, environment and habitat, and the unique demands upon our military and first responders, among others.  The Foundation is proud to be supporting Food Lifeline and its collaboration with the Tom Douglas Seattle Kitchen in Grilling For Good.
